1975 Norton Commando 829cc John Player Special ‘time-warp’ , one of the most collectible and striking variants of the Commando line. Purchased by the current vendor from Bonhams in January 2024, the bike retains its appealingly original, unrestored character while benefiting from careful mechanical attention.

Following purchase, the engine was partially dismantled for inspection. The barrels have been re-bored to +20, and the cylinder head has been stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt. The machine now runs and ticks over as it should, but will require further recommissioning before returning to the road.

Prior to this, the bike had been dry stored since 2008 as part of a long-term collection. Its earlier history is not fully known, though several previous owners are recorded in the accompanying documents. The odometer currently reads 6,907 miles, reflecting its preserved, time-capsule condition.

The machine comes with an original Rider’s Manual, an expired 2007 MoT, and V5/V5C documents. Please see image of the early V5 stating JPN Norton. It still retains all three original frame numbers, as well as its matching engine and gearbox numbers, confirming its authenticity and originality
